Kubota & Bachmann Architects GmbH (Zurich / Amsterdam) operates across architecture, interior architecture, and large-scale master planning. Founded in 2010 by Toshihiro Kubota and Yves Bachmann, the practice emphasizes transparent, collaborative dialogue with clients, municipalities, and local communities. By integrating technical precision with acute cultural and environmental context, the firm delivers ambitious, future-focused design solutions across all scales.

"Our focus in recent years has revolved around spatial specificity: finding the missing piece in the masterplan that brings absolute coherence to the environment. Every project—whether a large-scale urban development or an interior renovation—possesses its own distinct raison d’être. We actively resist architectural banalization, which flattens identity and ignores local culture, micro-climates, and history. Instead, our recent work emphasizes contextual intelligence: crafting interventions that respond precisely to natural light, regional traditions, and human scale so the architecture feels both deeply rooted and naturally continuous."
