Comprehensive renovation and extension of a mid-century building in the Zurich area. Adaptation of the load-bearing structure to merge individual room units into a spacious ground-floor living area. Opening of the main façade to the garden through floor-to-ceiling glazing, repositioning of the kitchen, and reorganisation of the bathrooms. Enhancement of core design elements, such as the overall cubic façade expression, through an integrative extension. Preservation of key historical details—including knot-free spruce wall panelling, doors, and the original entrance area—complemented by sensitively selected additions such as natural wood windows and a coordinated colour concept.
The building is listed in the municipal inventory of protected structures by the local monument preservation authorities. The concept was presented to the relevant committee and approved accordingly.
